Statement from the Executive Board of Fifth Cellar Productions:

Due to recent changes at our venue (Madjax of Muncie), the graduation of several of our core members, and some unforseen issues with our funding, we've made the difficult decision to put Fifth Cellar Productions on indefinite hiatus.

It's our hope that in the future we're able to resume producing relevant, accessible theatre for Delaware County, and continue providing performance opportunities for all.

Alhough Fifth Cellar is taking its final bow for a while, there are countless other theatre organizations in your community who could benefit from your patronage or volunteer hours. Consider getting involved! It's everyone's responsibility to support live performance, whether it's produced in a theater, a school, or even a warehouse on the corner of Madison and Jackson St.

We've been very lucky these last 3 years. So much of what we've been able to accomplish was due to the generosity of this community, its artists, and our audiences; we thank all those who have supported us and taken part in our shows (onstage and off) and we ask that you continue to support and take part in local theatre however you can.

Mark your calendars, "Student Body" opens in 11 days!

Fifth Cellar is beyond excited to collaborate with Gayle on their senior capstone. Discussing the relevance of their production, they said, "'Student Body' is a story that didn't NEED to happen, but much like our characters, was shaped and informed by personal interest trumping moral code. The show has multiple points where it could have ended, but it stretches on and reaches its own kind of disturbing truth - a truth that coincides with reality, regardless of if we agree with it. In an age where sexual assault and harassment on college campuses is still very prevalent, 'Student Body' challenged us to consider how we each play a part in r**e culture, whether we mean to or not."

Make sure to see this powerful piece of theatre when it opens on November 12th. Tickets sold at the door. 🎭

AUDITITON NOTICE:

Fifth Cellar Productions is currently seeking a person of color (male presenting, 20-30), to portray the role of Mitch in a modern reworking of "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams! Performances will take place on October 15th-16th at MadJax of Muncie.

Our new take on the classic play refocuses the story on mental health, abusive relationships, and sexual assault; the role of Mitch is an integral part of the narrative, and one of the only characters with conscience.

To set up an audition, applicants may submit their name, headshot and resume to [email protected]. Audition material will be provided via email, as our website is currently down for repairs.

FCP Spotlight #9 on our Helga, Tori Horne!

"Hi!! I’m so excited that I have the opportunity to be in Cabaret! I actually had never seen or listened to the music from this show before, and now I am obsessed! The music is absolutely beautiful and also so much fun. The story and the characters are so incredibly complex as well. It feels so good to be a part of this production, because it tells a story I believe is still so relevant for today, and I believe people need to hear. This show challenges me as an actress every day, but it has been worth every second. Also, my fellow castmates are so amazing, I am captivated watching them perform and I hope you will be too. "I joined theatre to try something new and slowly started to fall in love with the production side of things when I was in high school. Theatre became a place for me to express myself and have fun doing something amazing. It became a place to learn and try new things, which led to wonderful memories and art being made. This led me to minor in technical theatre and major in audio production because I loved working sound but I also loved all of the technical aspects of theatre."
