RD-Day 11: Before Christmas video

It’s been mentioned I have not shown any pictures or video on my marine ecosystem. That is true I have not.

Been concentrating on recovering from my total knee replacement surgery.

Now I have had a set back, I’ve lost most of my corals, and one’s I still have are not looking good.

Two things happened, my friend Tom setup a new water transfer, drain, water change and top off system. Well stupid me, I was not paying attention and added to much salt to my mixing bin, that did a lot of damage to my corals, then trying to dilute the salinity level I drained out about 15 gallons of 35 gallons and forgot to shut off the fresh RO/DI water transfer, this created a major flood in my living room not overly bright on my part,

Got that All corrected and cleaned up and carpet finally dried.

Yesterday added fresh salt mix and today got it to 1.026 just a bit high from where I want it at 1.025.

Drained out 25% of aquarium water cleaned equipment and glass and did my water change this afternoon.

I have a doctors appointment in the morning with my orthopedic surgeon, he do new x-rays and hopefully give me a thumbs up.

Then my plan is do a short video tomorrow afternoon.

They are still on their Frag plugs until I figure where I want to place them

New Coral Additions to 55 Gallon Reef Ecosystem: Saturday November 6, 2021.

Went to my LFS in Chesapeake, Va (Legendary Aquatics) to their Legendary Frag Show this morning. Bought 5 coral frags and two PJ Cardinal Fish to round out my fish stock.

The Corals are small frags the one in lower center is a Candy Cane Coral and the others are various Zola corals. I’ll post better photos in about a week or two.

RD-04: Water Change Day one week after adding Toadstool Leather Soft Coral, Green Star Polys Soft Coral as well as a Canary Blenny.

Corals are adapting very nicely to their new marine ecosystem, Toadstool Leather is fully inflated standing tall with tentices starting to come out.

Green Star Polyps are growing and extending out as well.

Fish are happy, healthy vibrant.
