Mr Mark took a seemingly irrational step one month ago by deciding to confront their debt.
The previous year has been challenging for them, but the effort was truly valuable. They declined numerous enjoyable opportunities. Each individual had different occupations and consistently put in effort. Most importantly, they developed the skill to find contentment in their present situations and possessions

Congratulations to me 🎉 So this just came in today after months and months of endless study and training I'm happy to announce that I've been certified by Blockhain technology after undergoing the rigorous training which lasted for over 24 months.I've been keeping this secret for a long time.

Ice Fest was a rip roaring success! Thank you to our Co-Chairs Erica Basile and Danielle Holmberg, all of the SSC Members who volunteered, officials and judges who made this enormous event happen.

Congrats to all of our SSC skaters who skated, jumped, spin(ed), fell and got back up again.

You are all winners!

We NEED everyone!!!

350+ skaters begin to arrive at the rink TOMORROW for the largest Ice Fest ever - and we still have lots of spots open on the volunteer schedule! You do not need to be an SSC member to help - we need EVERYONE! Even if you signed up already, please consider helping for just one more shift! It is essential that we have all of these positions filled for the competition to run smoothly and on time!

We have the following openings available - you can email us at [email protected] or stop by the rink Thursday and sign up!

FRIDAY:
7-10AM - Music at Registration (adult)
7:30-10AM - Music Runner (can be younger skater)
7:30-10AM - Awards (this is during basic skills - it's SO fun to give our little skaters there FIRST Ice Fest Medal!)
3-5:30PM - Awards (we even provide a comfy chair!)
8-10:45PM - TWO accounting runners (adult or older skater)

SATURDAY:
7:45-10:30AM - Music Runner
10:30-1 - Awards
1-3:30 - Music at Registration
3:30-5:30 - Registration
3:30-5:30 - Music at Registration
5:30-8PM - Registration
5:30-8PM - Music at Registration
7-11PM - Accounting Runner

SUNDAY:
7:30-10 - Music at Registration
7:30-10 - Ice Monitor (the last available spot!!!)
7:30-10 - Accounting Runner
7:30-10 - Awards
7:30-9 - Music Runner
2-4 - Clean up!!!

We also would like a parent volunteer to assist us during Improv - No experience needed and it's TONS of fun - the only requirement is that your skater is not participating in Improv events!!! The improv volunteer is 8:45-10:45AM on Sunday!!!

All SSC members are encouraged to come to the Board of Directors elections followed by a meeting. Wed. May 16 5:30pm downstairs at OVA. You can stay for the open meeting or just come to vote.

We are still looking for a Club Secretary and to fill various committee positions.

All hands on deck! 2012 Ice Fest is going to be the BIGGEST in our club's history. We will need a boat load of volunteers to continue our tradition of an excellent competition experience for our skaters.

It is with great sadness we inform you that Dolye Doherty, long time Figure Skating Judge and friend of SSC.

She passed peacefully on Sunday evening April 22nd, two days shy of her 78th birthday. She is at peace and the family is grateful.

A “Celebration of her life” service will be held on Friday May 4th at 2 pm at the Carnation LDS church. 32751 NE 45th St., Carnation, WA 98014. If anyone has any questions they can her daughter Rosie at 206/940-4270.

The family will be having a luncheon following the service for all of their Mom’s friends. They are looking forward to sharing stories, much laughter, and probably a few tears. The family has felt the great outpouring of love from everyone who has sent her letters, emails and cards over the past 3 and a half months.

Thank you for your help in getting the word out to those who loved her.
