Upstage Theater is a completely teen-run theater company that provides opportunities to teens of all backgrounds from across the Bay Area to participate in every aspect of theater, allowing them to hone their skills in both acting and production work. We are dedicated to creating safe spaces to examine what it means to be a teenager through material written by or about teens that they would typically be unable to participate in a school or community theater.

And now last but not least, introducing our wonderful sound designer Mirabelle and lighting designer Sai💡🎼 !!

Mirabelle is a junior at Gunn High School and is thrilled to be working with Upstage Theater for the second time! She has worked in sound for shows at many theatres, including most recently Gypsy with Palo Alto Players and She Loves Me with the Stanford Dept. of Music. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dog and playing various instruments.

Sai is in his first Upstage Theater production, and is extremely excited to be working with the amazing cast and crew! He has loved lighting ever since running the follow spot in 6th grade, and since then, he has done lighting in 4 productions. He is currently a 9th grader at Gunn High School, and is part of the lighting crew there. Outside of stage tech, he likes to play golf and basketball, hang out with his friends, and beat his friends and family at card games.

Introducing our wonderful costuming team, Sophia and Kimberly🧵🪡!!

Sophia is incredibly grateful to be part of Upstage’s production of Little Women! She has worked on costumes for over four years in Bay Area youth theaters including Peninsula Youth Theater and Playful People Productions. This will be her fourth and final production with Upstage as she heads to Seattle University in the fall to pursue her nursing degree. A huge thank you to the wonderful cast and crew!

Kimberly Zaragoza is a junior at Independence High and has worked in a variety of shows and roles, including but not limited to Indy’s productions of Mean Girls, Much Ado About Nothing, Hadestown, and most recently, Shrek. This is her first show working with this amazing cast and crew at Upstage and can’t wait to work alongside them again. She would like to thank her wife Nat and her son/cat Leon Ken Eddy.

And now for our scenic designers Cori and Claudia!!

Cori is very excited to do their second show with Upstage. This is their 28th show overall. They previously were the assistant lighting designer for Witch. They are a third year tech theater student at Independence High School. Their favorite shows they’ve done were Shrek (Donkey), Seussical (Horton), Madagascar Jr (Stage manager), Witches in Salem! (Lighting Designer). They are so excited to work with Upstage again. They want to thank their friends, Rebecca, and everyone at Upstage.

Claudia is a senior at Gunn High School. She really enjoys set design and construction. In her free time she plays softball and spends time with her friends. She has been doing tech for two years at Gunn.

Talia Garber — Assistant Stage Manager
Talia is a freshman at Gunn High School and is excited for their first show with Upstage. They have been interested in stage tech since the first day they saw a lightboard in middle school. They have enjoyed working on lights and sound for Gunn Theater productions and are excited to ASM for the first time.
