Eden is a fourth generation Arkansan whose family has lived on their mountain since the late 1800s. Growing up hunting, fishing, and exploring the woods, she developed a deep connection to Arkansas’ native plants from an early age. During high school she transitioned to homeschooling, which allowed her to study the forest more closely and begin formal master forager training under the guidance of experienced mentors. Today, Eden works daily with medicinal plants and operates her apothecary at the historic Beard and Lady Inn in Chester. She continues to study and practice traditional Ozark herbalism, focusing on ethical foraging, plant identification, and the preparation of old time “granny remedies.” Her teaching emphasizes respect for the land, mindful medicine making, and the cultural heritage of Ozark folk healing.
