Richard Perez (Michael) has worked nationally as an actor, director, educator and arts administrator. Representative acting roles include Mando in How to Make an American Son, Nate in The Birds, Gabe in Dinner with Friends, Oscar in The Odd Couple, Bobby Gould in Speed the Plow and Malvolio in Twelfth Night, On television he appeared as Councilman Ortiz on Boss, with Kelsey Grammer, as well as guest roles on Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Electric Dreams.
Select directing credits include: Clybourne Park (SFBATCC best overall production), Human Error, The Wolves, The Thanksgiving Play, True West, Hurly Burly, The Christians, Cry It Out, Detroit ‘67, All My Sons, Into the Woods, Urinetown, The Mercy Swing (New York Fringe Festival) and Nocturnal (The Kennedy Center).
Richard is the former Artistic Director of Town Hall Theatre in Lafayette and the Bloomington Playwrights Project in Indiana as well as Associate Artistic Director at Chicago Dramatists.
