In jump shots, the cue angle and stroke speed completely change the ball’s flight. A lower cue elevation creates a flatter, longer jump that travels farther over the blocking ball, while a steeper cue angle produces a higher but shorter jump. Speed also matters: softer strokes create lower and shorter hops, whereas faster strokes generate more lift and distance. The key is balancing cue elevation with speed to control both the height and landing point of the cue ball accurately.
