A late recap from a wild Memorial Day weekend for the team! 🇺🇸🏁
It was a full-throttle weekend with drivers racing all three days across multiple tracks. Creager Racing had three cars at Deming Speedway on Friday and two cars at Skagit Speedway on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Westy Racing hauled the Sporty down to Cottage Grove Speedway for a two-day weekend, while Braeden Wagar Racing headed to Evergreen Speedway with the Legend car for Saturday and Sunday action.
FRIDAY – DEMING SPEEDWAY
Friday night started rough before the racing even began. Both the 66 and 87c developed gremlins early, leading to a lot of extra work for Jeff, with help from Justin, while the rest of the team scrambled to keep everything moving.
With 13 Northwest Focus Midgets in attendance, both the 66 and 87c missed hot laps while the team continued diagnosing issues.
Qualifying:
87c (Braeden) – P6
66 (Jeff) – P10
21c (Dale) – P12
All three cars ended up in the same heat race:
87c: P2 ➡️ P1
66: P5 ➡️ P3
21c: P6 ➡️ P6
After the invert was set, we found out Braeden would be starting on the pole for the feature for the first time ever. Jeff, still battling issues with the 66, would roll off P6, while Dale lined up P12.
Feature results:
87c: P1 ➡️ P1 🏆
66: P6 ➡️ P6
21c: P12 ➡️ P12
What a night for Braeden! In only his third Northwest Focus Midget start, he picked up his FIRST career NWFM feature win — and Creager Racing’s first feature win of the season!
The entire team is incredibly proud of Braeden, but we also want to recognize Jeff and Justin for the nonstop work behind the scenes getting both the 66 and 87c on track.
And especially Jeff — sacrificing time on his own car to make sure others could race. That effort absolutely did not go unnoticed.
Friday night was the definition of a TEAM WIN, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved.
SATURDAY – SKAGIT SPEEDWAY
Saturday saw Dale and Justin racing the 21c and 78c, while Braeden headed to Evergreen Speedway in the Legend car. Filling in aboard the 87c was Tristin Thomas.
Tristin wasted no time getting up to speed.
Qualifying:
87c (Tristin) – P2, just .009 off fast time set by Nick Evans
21c (Dale) – P19
78c (Justin) – P22
(23 cars total)
Heat races:
21c: P7 ➡️ P8
87c: P4 ➡️ P2
78c: P8 ➡️ P8
Feature:
87c: P5 ➡️ P4
21c: P19 ➡️ P16
78c: P23 ➡️ P22
In his first Focus Midget race of the season, Tristin ran up front all night and brought home a strong top-5 finish. Huge thank you to Tristin for helping both in the shop and at the track Saturday!
Dale was able to move forward three spots in the feature while battling in traffic most of the race. Things got extra exciting on lap 17 when the 21c lost power steering for the remainder of the race after a high-pressure line failure sprayed fluid into the cockpit.
Justin’s night unfortunately ended early after contact with a spun car resulted in a right rear flat tire.
COTTAGE GROVE – JEFF
Saturday:

Heat: P4 ➡️ P2
Main: P3 ➡️ P3
Sunday:
Qualified P1
Heat: P4 ➡️ P1

All in all, an incredibly busy and successful weekend with a lot of speed, a lot of hard work, and plenty of teamwork behind the scenes.
