Want some interesting reading about a Mount Vernon resident? From 'First Life to the Last Hunt'' chronicles Bo Wafford, known among hunters as The Legend.

This book chronicles his early years in Mount Vernon area as a farmer's son, life in the Air Force, and worldwide adventures as a hunter and guide.

He wrote it to '"let what we call the younger generation know a little of what went on during the good old days (the 40's and 50's)" and found he had other life stories to tell.

The Cultural Arts Center has been a favorite for years for birthday parties, baby showers, weddings, graduations, civic club events, lectures, and art activities.
It is located at 100 Rusk Street with a courtyard entry at the back of the Gallery on Main building. It is available any day.

Rental includes use of the event center, full kitchen, tables and chairs, classroom, bathrooms, and the beautiful brick courtyard and fountain that can be seen from Rusk Street. Table umbrellas are also available.

Costs: There is a refundable $100 deposit. In addition, the rental fee is $125 for 4 hours (with additional hours at $25/hour) - OR $275 for all day (7 AM to midnight). Hours rented must include set up, the event and clean up.
