Update for those who might be concerned about us in Western Washington… We are safe. The water has begun to recede and though we can’t get to it yet we think our home is fine. Thankfully the d**e has held. Another reason to be grateful in a year full of amazing rescues.

The last few months have overflowed with creativity and freedom. Without feeling I need to post anything, I’ve made so much art! Gardening and hiking with sketchbook in hand, experimenting freely, what a joy. Ignoring social media completely has been so wonderfully refreshing!

Once in a blue moon I finish a piece that satisfies my inner critic. As always this is freehand cut paper. The calligraphy is poetry by Terry Tempest Williams done in a modern gothic cursive.

Cut paper and calligraphy to thank the surgeons who successfully removed Mr. Wonderful’s cancer. Sometimes you just can’t express enough gratitude. I hope funding for cancer research can be funded by tax dollars again. It matters.
