Secret Stitching Society

Secret Stitching Society A positive maker community for all creative souls. Come on, let's make something beautiful! A member driven community for anyone who uses fiber and tools. Maybe.

Quilting, embroidery, knitting, crochet, wool applique...the list could go on. We gather once a month for our signature event, The Gathering. We feature guest speakers and authors plus a pop up shop filled with carefully curated tools, notions and fibers. There are breakout sessions and classes plus seasoned instructors on hand to help you with your project. We have fun giveaways, door prizes and

other fun things throughout the event. Twice a month we have Maker Meet-Ups where we converge on mom and pop businesses, have a bite to eat and/or a drink while we work on our projects. In the spring and summertime we have Stitch on the Square every Saturday on the Square of Mount Vernon, Ohio. Bring a chair, a cold drink and gather with us as we all work on our projects and enjoy strolling through the Farmers Market. Don't live in Ohio? That's okay. We will have a once a month ZOOM event and our website features a blog and helpful tools. Secret handshake? We can't tell you unless you show us your pin. Why a membership? Our membership fee is $2 a month ($24 for the year) and that money pays the venue fee and speakers. Plus, if you are a member, you can get up to 25% off selected products. Woot!

We had a great group of women come out to celebrate Knit in Public Day (we prefer Stitch in Public Day, so we’re inclusive of all of our fiber lovers).
The weather was perfect, and the trees were generous enough to give us a canopy of shade.
See you next Saturday 10 to 12 Happy Bean !

Join us tomorrow as we meet on the square in downtown Mount Vernon. It’s National Knit in Public day, but we like to celebrate National Stitch in Public Day since we have women who crochet, embroider and other fiber based arts.

The weather is supposed to be lovely! We will be shaded under a canopy of trees, plus you’ll have an opportunity to swing into the farmers market and get some fabulous local produce and baked goods.

Tomorrow we will be meeting at - but next Saturday we’re going to be stitching on the square! Now, we know that next Saturday is actually Knit in Public Day, but we have people that do all kinds of stitching - so we did a little edit and turned it into Stitch in Public Day.
Be sure to stop by Happy Bean and pick up a cold drink before you head up. You’ll also be able to have a chance to shop at the farmers market.
Bring a comfy camp chair, your project, and come sit with us under the trees, you’ll be protected from the sun. 🌞
