What a night for senior QB CJ Hughes-Disroe!

CJ accounted for 321 yards of offense and FIVE touchdowns in Mt. Vernon’s 45-34 win over Collinsville — rushing for 208 yards and 3 TDs while throwing for 113 yards and 2 more scores.

Through three games, he’s already rushed for 491 yards and 7 touchdowns!

After a 45–34 win over Collinsville Friday night, the Rams have now won two straight and return to Ken Hunt Stadium TONIGHT to open South Seven Conference play against the Carbondale Terriers!

FINAL: Mt. Vernon 45, Collinsville 34. Rams are now 2-1 and open South Seven play on Friday when they host Carbondale. You can listen on AM 940, 96.5 FM, and Section618 App or WATCH on WMIX Sports YouTube.

CJ Hughes-Disroe, Jr had 24 carries for 208 yards and 3 TDs and was 6/14 passing for 85 yards with a TD. Zay Nesbit ran for 144 yards on 27 carries with a TD. Malik Grissom led the team with 3 catches for 52 yards with a TD.

We do not yet have full defensive stats.

What a week for Mt. Vernon junior Kendall Mast--this week's Josh Finley _ Country Financial / WMIX Sports Ram of the Week!

Mast helped lead the Lady Rams to four victories and a fourth-place finish at the Fairfield Tournament while putting together an impressive all-around stat line over 14 sets.

She currently leads Mt. Vernon in kills, aces AND assists and ranks second on the team in digs! Congratulations!
