These Lady Spartans accomplished something truly special, earning their place among the best teams in Illinois and creating memories that will last a lifetime. They battled, believed, and achieved things that many only dream about, all while representing their schools and communities with pride.

The wins, the celebrations, the road to state, and the bonds formed along the way are what make this team unforgettable. They made history, inspired young athletes, and gave all of us a season we’ll be talking about for years to come.

No matter what the final scoreboard said, this team’s legacy is already written. They are champions in every way that counts. From the first pitch to the final out, they showed heart, determination, resilience, and pride every single step of the way.

🏃 STATE QUALIFIERS. STATE MEDALISTS. A HUGE POSTSEASON FOR THE RAMS.

The Mt. Vernon Rams Boys Track & Field state qualifiers are this week's Josh Finley _ Country Financial / WMIX Sports Rams of the Week after an outstanding postseason that included sectional championships and multiple state medals at the IHSA Class 2A State Finals in Charleston.

The Mt. Vernon Rams Baseball season comes to an end today with a 4-0 loss to Mascoutah in the Regional Championship. Senior Cale Maurer pitched a solid 5 innings and deserved the win keeping a powerful Indians team off balanced, but strong pitching by Mascoutah kept the Rams quiet. Thanks Rams and the coaching staff, all the players and Rams family for another fun season. Sad to see it end. Rams finish 19-17.

🏆 Josh Finley _ Country Financial / WMIX Sports Ram of the Week 🏆

Congratulations to Mt. Vernon Lady Rams senior triple jumper Dezaire “Dezi” Jones!

Dezi qualified for the IHSA Class 2A State Finals out of the Mascoutah Sectional and advanced to the state finals at Eastern Illinois University after posting an 11.16 meter jump in the prelims at O’Brien Field in Charleston.

She finished her senior season competing among the top triple jumpers in Illinois Class 2A. 👏

BIG WIN for the Mt. Vernon Rams Baseball team tonight, defeating Centralia in the Regional Semis at Mascoutah 8-5. After a near hour long rain delay, the Rams got 3 RBIs from our Player of the Game Grant Holloway. Max Nowak got the win and Trevor McClure came in to lock down the save.
