I started a class a few weeks ago. We've been having a ball. Week 1-mugs, week 2-wheel throwing (cylinders), week 3-throwing bowls, Next week, week 4-trimming everything we threw, week 5- pinch pots and coils, week 6-glazing. It's been a blast!

School will be getting in the way until Spring quarter is over. The next classes will get going in mid-June.

Hello All,

It's been a really long time since I've been on FB. Sorry for neglecting you. I've been in school full-time for medical assisting and haven't been doing much clay work until this past couple of weeks. I have a commission with Greenwood Tree Homeschool Cooperative to make a bunch of mugs with their logo on them. This will take a couple of weeks or more, depending on future orders, which I'll know about after their Winter Faire this Saturday. It's a fundraiser for the school.

If I don't get back on before the holiday, please be safe and have a very Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and a Happy New Year. Prosperity to all in 2018!!

Well, I've been kind of working on the studio, but not nearly as quuickly as I had hoped. I have gotten the work benches covered with laminate and have the west wall insulated. Now I'd like to get the rest insulated for winter so we don't freeze our tooshy's off. If anyone would like to help, give me a call.

Now that the wedding is over, it's time to start working on the studio. I have to pull stuff out and reorganize it and then put it back in place. Anybody want to help?

I want to let everyone know that we are moving into a new house in Clear Lake on April 18th. And guess what...we'll have a building for the pottery studio. So, we'll be back in business by the end of May. Let me know if you want to come play in clay.

Here's the latest update---As you may know, we moved into a house with a two-car garage that I was planning to turn into the studio. Well, it turns out that our landlady has decided to put the house on the market, so....we'll be having to find another location to live. This puts the studio into limbo for a while longer while we figure out where we will be moving.
If it isn't one thing, it's another.
Hope everyone has a joyous holiday season and a most prosperous New Year.

I'd love to tell everyone that we are up and running, however, we have a mold issue that needs to be fixed before the studio is ready for use. I also am looking for a job to keep things going around here. Once everything is resolved, I'll be putting out the good word. Keep the faith and keep looking for updates.

I'm happy to announce that Handz in Clay will soon be up and running in the next couple of months. Gabrielle and I are moving into a house at the base of Little Mountain in Mount Vernon. We will be turning the garage into the studio. I've always wanted to have my studio and home at the same location. I'll keep you posted as to the status. Spread the news to your friends.

My webmaster and friend, Dakota, put a donations page up on my website at http://handzinclay.com/donations.html to help with my expenses.

Phoenix Rising was diagnosed with Uterine cancer in October 2013. The surgery and upcoming treatments have left Phoenix with a substantial amount of medical and living expenses which she needs to pay. If you can help out, your donations will be greatly appreciated.

Here's an update on what's happening with Handz in Clay and me. I went to the Doctor on Tuesday and found out that I have to do the chemo/radiation thing to make sure that any cancer cells that may have escaped will get zapped. This will commence around the week of December 9th.

Since this is a new development, we've (Gabrielle and myself) decided to bring a wheel into our kitchen, so I can remain creative and teach a person or three on an individual basis. I have to figure out logistics, so this probably won't happen until after the first of the year.

Stay tuned for further developments.

Hello all, Sorry for not posting for a while. Shortly after I closed the school, I got diagnosed with uterine cancer. I had surgery two weeks ago today to get it all taken care of. I'm home and recovering nicely.
I wanted to let you know about the Clear Lake Elementary School's Arts/Craft Sale on December 7th from 9 - 3. I'll be selling my pottery there in one of the classrooms, so keep looking for me out there.
Come out and support the wonderful craft people of our area!

Well, you're not going to believe this. I fit everything into a 10 X 10 storage unit. I'm looking forward to unloading it into another studio...hopefully soon. Let me know if you think of a space.

Hello All, I will be closing the School this week and packing it into storage until I find a new home for it. If anyone knows of a good place that has water, bathroom and 220 V for my kiln at a reasonable price, let me know. Moving day is Thursday and I could use all the help I can get. I'll be picking up the truck at 8:30 and need a couple of guys to help move the heavy stuff. Let me know if you can help. Thanks for all your support.

One more week until school starts again. What are your kid's plans for after school activities. Consider the introduction of art, in the form of clay. It gives them that tactile learning method that has been lost in the schools, plus it's fun to get dirty!

I also have one more week of week-long clay camp. Morning classes are from 9:30 - 12:00. Come enjoy a week of clay!

I want to give a big shout out to the Skagit Kid Insider. They are a wonderful organization helping families in the area find activities for kids to do. Visit their page and "Like" them. You'll get all kinds of fun ideas.

Had fun at yesterday, throwing all kinds of thing. Had so much fun, I'm off to the Fair again today to do demos. come by and see me...Bldg D.

Getting ready to head on down to the Fair. I've wedge a bunch of clay, have boards to put my creations onto, have wares for sale...I think I have everything I need.

Now, I just need you to come down and see me. I'll be in Bldg D from 3:30 - 5:30ish. Have to be back to the Studio for my 6:30 class.

Look forward to seeing you.

I have a predicament. I have signs that I want to put up above my awning, and I need a boom lift to do it. Does anyone have access to one that I can use for a few hours?

If you scroll down on Handz in Clay FB page to June 24, you'll see the sign above the front door that I will be filling....somehow.
