The Spotlight Players are sponsered by Ms. Lori Joffs, and led by President Milla Smith. In the 2020-21 school year, the Spotlight Players continu

To all of family, friends, and supporters of the arts, thank you all for joining us on our journey so far. At this point, “Fiddler on the Roof” has been postponed to a later date. We will be giving out additional information sometime soon about new dates for our show. Thank you for everyone who attended our impromptu dress rehearsal, watched our live stream, and have donated to our program during this time of uncertainty. Theatre gives kids a place where they can be themselves and share their love of performing with others. It encourages growth in ones self esteem, giving kids a place where they know they are loved and accepted, no matter what background they come from. Behind every scene, costume, choreographed dance, pizza party, Yiddish accent, “Quiet back stage”, and on stage character break.... there is Thespian Troupe #8515 looking towards hope and saying, “We are not finished yet.”

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you
The MPHS Spotlight Players 💐🎻

The Mount Pleasant High School Spotlight Players present “Fiddler on the Roof” March 20th, 21st, and 22nd. “Fiddler” centers on the story of Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family's lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three older daughters, who wish to marry for love – each one's choice of a husband moves further away from the customs of their Jewish faith and heritage – and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their village. The fiddler on the roof serves as a metaphor, demonstrating the strength of tradition. Because the fiddler is often unbalanced and can easily fall, so too can the traditional practices, culture, and faith. Hope to see you in Anatevka! 🎻💐

In case of an unfortunate show closure due to COVID-19, The Spotlight Players will be live streaming tonight’s dress rehearsal around 3:30 pm. “Fiddler on the Roof” has not be cancelled as of now, but anyone who would like to watch a rehearsal can on our page this afternoon. There has been a GoFundMe set up by Brittany Plunkett for the Spotlight Players. Please consider donating, as we rely solely off of box office revenue to keep our program running. Thank you, and join our troupe by hoping and praying for the best.
