Easy indoor movement idea for kids!

All you need are 4 colors: 🔴 🟡 🔵 🟢

We used our Pop-Up PE poly spots, but you can easily use:
• Colored construction paper
• Pieces of paper with the colors written or colored on them

Then search “color tiles” on YouTube, put your colors on the floor, and follow along!

My son is 3, and he loved it. The videos start slow and can get faster as kids get the hang of it.

It’s a simple way to work on color recognition, reaction time, coordination, listening, and movement, all while having fun together.

And don’t just watch them do it. Jump in and play too!

A few minutes of screen time becomes active family time.

Move. Play. Grow.

Sometimes the oldest games are still the most fun.

What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? is always a hit because it’s simple, silly, and keeps everyone on the edge of their toes. I probably have just as much fun being the fox as the kids do trying to escape when I yell, “LUNCHTIME!” 😂

Behind all the laughs, they’re practicing listening, reacting quickly, changing direction, and building confidence… but to them, it’s just one big game.

That’s what Pop-Up PE is all about: getting kids moving without it ever feeling like exercise.

Why do adults spend years trying to fix health habits they were never taught in the first place? What if we started teaching those habits in middle school? 🧠💪

As a PE teacher, I love creating games for kids.

As a dad… these are my favorite moments.

Today’s challenge was simple:
🏌️ Two hits.
🥎 Get the ball into the hoop.

No screens.
No complicated setup.
Just laughter, encouragement, and one very proud little girl.

These are the moments they’ll remember.

Sometimes the best investment you can make isn’t buying another toy…
It’s giving your kids your full attention.

Go play. ❤️

Little moments. Big confidence. 💛

Sometimes it’s as simple as matching the yellow ball to the yellow bucket. A little encouragement goes a long way.

Through purposeful games like Floor is Lava, children practice listening, sharing, body awareness, and teamwork; all while having an absolute blast. This is what Pop-Up PE is all about.

☀️ What a week!

Our first Pop-Up PE Summer Camp was filled with games, laughter, teamwork, challenges, and plenty of movement. But beyond the fun, our goal was bigger than just keeping kids active.

At Pop-Up PE, we believe physical education should help kids build confidence, learn life skills, solve problems, encourage others, and discover what they’re capable of. Every game has a purpose. Every activity is an opportunity to grow.

Throughout the week, our athletes learned:
✅ Everyone has a role
✅ It’s okay to try hard things
✅ We can control our attitude and effort
✅ Encouraging others makes the team stronger

As a PE teacher, my mission is to help evolve physical education both inside and outside of school by creating experiences that kids actually look forward to while developing skills that last far beyond the game.

Thank you to all the families who trusted us with their children this week. Seeing these athletes grow in confidence, make new friends, and have fun moving was the highlight of my summer.

☀️ Day 1 of Pop-Up P.E. Summer Camp is officially in the books!

Today’s Athlete Wisdom: “Everyone Has a Role.” ⭐

Throughout the day, our campers learned that being part of a team isn’t just about being the fastest, strongest, or scoring the most points. It’s about encouraging others, helping teammates, showing kindness, listening, leading when needed, and supporting the group.

We saw campers step up as leaders, problem-solvers, encouragers, and great teammates. 💪

At Pop-Up P.E., we’re using games, movement, and fun to help kids build confidence, character, teamwork, and friendships that extend far beyond the gym.

Thank you to all of our families for trusting us with your children this week. We can’t wait for Day 2! 🙌
