We would like to welcome another one of staff members Teyanna Lane. She’s definitely not new to the studio as she has taken dance from Soul Expressions since she was a little girl, and helped assist a couple of classes last season. She says she’s so happy her mom chose our studio as her dance studio, because she loves being a part of our dance family!
Tey is a 2024 Mt. Pleasant High School graduate. She has been involved in school activities such as volleyball, track, colorguard, showchoir, and was also majorette for the middle school marching band. She enjoyed doing all those other activities growing up but says dance is the one thing that she loves the most! She said she gives dance the credit for making her into who she is today.
Teyanna has performed at many dance competitions over the years and has brought home many top honors with solos, duets, trios, and groups!
She also was the Role Model of Soul Expressions this year. This was voted on by all competition students and staff.
Teyanna told me, I hope to someday make an impact on the students, just like you have made on all of us.
Welcome to our staff Ms. Tey!

There are so many dance students that look up to Teyanna and Bailey, that’s what makes it extra special to have them as a part of our staff! Welcome aboard girls!

We will be featuring our new instructors to Soul Expressions the next few days! Our featured instructor for today will be Bailey Jalas. Be also watching for the video of her solo that was performed this year!

Bailey is a 2024 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. She took dance at Soul Expressions most of her life and says it was one of most important activities she’s ever done. She remarked how it not only helped her grow as a dancer but also help mold her into who she is today.
Bailey was very active in a lot school activities growing up. Just to mention a few; She did dance team 4 years, cheer 6 years, show choir 6, competition cheer for 4 years, and track for 5 years (due to a year off because of Covid). She was also on the 2023 Mt. Pleasant Homecoming Court. Bailey has also had the honor of winning top awards at many dance competitions over the years, with being crowned Miss NYLA as top performer in her age category for several years. She was very active in many extra curricular activities but always found time in her busy schedule to take dance.
She is super excited to be helping teach this coming season at Soul Expressions. Bailey says, β€œI always looked up to the older girls when I was little. I started as a beginner dancer and worked my way to an advanced dancer at Soul Expressions, and want to be able to help the little girls coming up do the same.”
We are excited to welcome Bailey aboard as a staff member at Soul Expressions Dance & Tumbling Center!
