Charleston Ballet Center for Dance directed by

is the longest continually running ballet school
in the Lowcountry. The school has produced the
professional version of the Nutcracker
since 1967. The comprehensive and
challenging curriculum is designed to inspire
future dancers of all types, whether aspiring a
professional career or those who simply des

the joy of quality dance training. Class in ballet, jazz, pointe , partnering and
variations are offered to children
Ages 4-to Adult . There are three spacious, fully equipped studios
including state-of-the-art dance flooring. Charleston Ballet Center for Dance

The School delivers consummate training to students from
areas of the Lowcountry and across the Nation. The school has a renowned legacy of offering
preeminent training in and performance of
classical ballet to students at all levels from
beginner to pre-professional. Alumni are members of ballet companies
including New York City Ballet, Atlanta Ballet,
Louisville Ballet, Nashville Ballet,
and American Ballet Theatre. Founding School Director Patricia Cantwell’s
unique student core curriculum is
focused on constructing robust technical
strength, stamina and flexibility while
nurturing creative development and
teaching valuable life skills. Teachers include Michael Rodriguez,
Katie Badgett, Jennifer Norman and Nationally
known Guest Instructors. The studios located at 497 La Mesa Road Suite
D & E Mount Pleasant SC 29464
(off Long Point Rd) are easily accessible from
the neighborhoods near I’On, Belle Hall,
Longpoint, Mathis Ferry Road, and the surrounding
areas of Daniel Island & other subdivisions
off Interstate 526. Many of our students
come from the Downtown, John & James Island,
Folly Beach & North Charleston area as well!!styles. Our photographers include William Long, Rebecca Roo Turisk, Doug Smoak, and Scott Nillson, Richard Calmes.
