🌽 Behind the Scenes: The People Who Help Make the Haunt Happen! 👻
When you walk through our corn maze and experience the scares, it’s easy to focus on everything happening inside the haunt. But what many people don’t see are the people working behind the scenes who help make it all possible.
Today, we want to give a HUGE shoutout to Dave and TJ for the important role they play in bringing our corn maze to life! 🌽
Planting the corn that eventually becomes part of our maze takes time, hard work, and dedication. Without that work happening months before the haunt ever opens, we simply wouldn’t have the corn maze that has become such an important part of the experience.
It may happen behind the scenes, but your contribution makes a BIG difference in what we’re able to create for our guests every year.
From planting that first seed to watching the corn grow into the backdrop for countless screams, laughs, and memories — we appreciate everything you do! ❤️
So the next time you’re making your way through our corn maze, remember there’s a lot of hard work that goes into making those rows of corn possible.

We’ve been made aware that construction activity has begun at Haunted Haven without authorization or permission from the haunt’s management.
This work was not approved, and we are currently addressing the situation. We’ll share more information as we confirm the facts and determine what steps need to be taken. We’re concerned but happy we have some help in the early stages of building.

For the past couple of years, we’ve talked about creating a shirt to commemorate ‘The Killer Shed.’ Thanks to Jeromy Rose, we’re excited to offer a limited number of ‘Killer Shed’ t-shirts for purchase in October!

If you’ve been following us and attending live scares, you may know the history, but for those who are new here, here’s the story of ‘THE KILLER SHED.’

Picture it, Mount Lookout WV, 2020 - what is now known as Haunted Haven began during a time when we were all more than ready for a little escape from COVID. Our Halloween decorations had been growing year after year as we worked to create something exciting for the trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood.

That year, I came up with an idea, and JR brought it to life—first with a sketch, then with pallets, scrap wood, and plenty of creativity. What started as a simple structure became what we call “The Killer Shed.”

The shed delivered its first live scares on Halloween night in 2020. It may not look like much from the outside, but inside, it became the birthplace of Haunted Haven—and it remains my favorite place to scare.

Every creak, shadow, and surprise holds a little piece of our history. This humble structure is where our haunt began, and it will always have a special place in our hearts.
