My first go at Festejo, a dance from my husband's mother land 🇵🇪 Keep in mind that this was self-taught through viewing performances on YouTube. Here, I'm practicing and teaching (i use the term teaching loosely) an amalgamation based on patterns I saw. Thank you to my friend Olga for doing this with me 🙏 I was by no means in my element, just completely in love... Had never heard of this dance, let alone seen/tried it prior to this. My friend here is simply an innocent victim to my overzelous lack of knowledge, ahaha... As a professional dancer and instructor, I'm proud to share that I do practice what I preach. You won't learn anything if you only do what you already know... try something new! Ps: I did seek out a professional Festejo coach at a later date to work with. Once again--practicing what I preach 😉 Shout-out to the I Train With Juan Studio in Tuckahoe, NY, for supporting us and lending your space. It was always a pleasure working with you 🙏 If anyone in or near the Southern Westchester area's in need of a good personal trainer, I highly recommend Juan. Also, for anyone looking for a Zumba workout, my friend Olga is an awesome instructor, also in the Southern Westchester, NY area. Reach out to her to inquire about her classes.
