For the past several weeks, ever since I finished the Evil Eye hoodie, I’ve been working on this gem! 🪡🧶

I’ve named it the Turtlely Tubular Trippy hoodie! 🐢

Here are some sneak peeks!

On the mannequin, you can see one sleeve as the original flared sleeve and another as the bell sleeve. I just finished out the second bell sleeve tonight and wrapped up the trim on the waist. Still need to tie up the loose ends. 🪄💚🩵💙💜🪄

Started on a new cropped sweater hoodie tonight!

This is what happens when you use yarn that is thicker than the pattern calls for and you forget to check the size because you’re overconfident after making one good product. LMAO

Definitely had to frog about half of this edge. 🤣🤪😭

Put the finishing touches on the “Good Vibes Only Chakra Blankie” last night!🥳🥳🥳

I started it ~April 4 of 2022, worked on it for nearly a year, and put it in a closet. It only seemed appropriate to finish it out on June 4, four years later. 😉

Because I had no idea what I was doing making a blanket back then, and was doing it more for therapeutic and cathartic reasons, the ends will cover a twin bed and the middle of it will cover the top of a queen bed, so I won’t bother posting final pictures, but you can see a lot of the fun in-progress pictures with Echo and Little Cat here! 🪄🧶🪡🐈🌈🐈‍⬛💖🪄

After completing the evil eye sweater, I was searching for some lime green or chartreuse yarn and remembered I had a ton of it left over from a project I hadn’t quite finished a few years ago.

This is the revival of the Good Vibes Only Chakra Blankie after yearrrs in the closet!

I began working on this project several years ago when I was going through a particularly hard time and dealing with multiple mental, emotional, physical, financial, and spiritual challenges. One might say, I was going through the dark night of the soul.

Even though it is made entirely of a basic daisy chain, it’s really wonky, and the tension is weird in some places, it helped me through a particularly hard time in life and every time I looked at it, it made me happy. Also, it’s super heavy and nearly 12 feet long! 🤯

I worked on it for the better part of a year, and worked on myself through that process. Crochet has been a blessing for me in hard times and has taught me to regulate my nervous system, meditate, and focus on something positive, all while creating a product I can be proud of. I only hope that others out there who are suffering can find their Zen.

Now, instead of starting another hooded crop sweater, I’m going to finish this project that I started several years ago! 🤣 🤪🥳

When all else fails, and I need a minute to regroup and immerse myself in beauty, my go-to is the garden!

Hydrangeas and gardenias are two of my favorite flowers, so I planted them all along the front of the house a few years ago and they are showing out!

And my nightshade garden, full of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, as well as watermelon, cucumber and cantaloupes, is looking good as well!

There’s tons more to look at, herbs and other flowers, and I’ve even managed to master lavender this year after a decade or two of struggling with it!

I’m so pumped! I’m learning to read a long hand pattern written by a lady overseas who doesn’t write patterns - and I don’t read patterns. So the fact that I have made it this far is pretty amazing.🤩

 I still have to attach the hood, add borders around the hood, the bottom of the sweater, and maybe a little more to the flared sleeves.

Once it’s done, I will have an evil eye in the back of my head and under each armpit, so should be 3x protected. 🤣
