The Shadow Within Her is just a few days away!

The shows and pick-ups have all been filmed. The music has been scored. The foley artists recreated all of our wonderful effects. And now, the last piece is clicking into place.

Our director has been locked in a padded cell with an endless mug of coffee since Thanksgiving. By using the best footage from five cameras per show and three full-length performances, he recreated the entire show from the best seat in the house. With performances and angles from all over the stage, you'll have a chance to see a Mill Race show like you've never seen before. We took our time on this one and the quality speaks for itself.

Be sure to keep an eye out here because we'll be launching just in time for Christmas. Until then, stay warm!

Shoutout today to Noelle McLeer, who played dual roles in The Shadow Within Her. Not only is she an accomplished actress who brightened our set every day, but she's also a budding creature performer!

"Standing eerily tall, it stooped through the doorway, elongated muscles stretched tightly against a narrow frame, claws extended like fingers, and ears I initially mistook for horns. A spring hare from the dreams of death, mocking our human shape."

A special shout-out today to our costuming and make-up artists, Jen Scache Bloomberg and Sharon Leigh Staff!

Every year, we improve our techniques for making young people look ancient on stage, but their designs for Nani in "The Shadow Within Her" were phenomenal. Putting on the makeup & house gown immediately added 30 years to Swati (the actress) and helped her get into character. Kudos!

They not only brought our latest story to life, but they also brought our theatre family together for the first time since the pandemic.

I'm so excited to share another behind-the-scenes look at our final show of 2022!

Dress rehearsal is this week, the grand moment when all production pieces are assembled on stage for the first time. Cast, crew, effects... we test every aspect of the show non-stop from beginning to end. It can be exhausting, but with such a limited run, we need to bring our best!

Once everything is polished, the play will be filmed live using a multi-camera setup just like an old TV show. Then, we'll stream the best version online via Vimeo.com, a popular site for movies and new releases. As a result, all our friends and community will be able to join us in the fun no matter where they live!
