PLEASE🇬🇧🌹
We have a very heavy heart today, just like so many others in our industry, our businesses all took a direct hit this afternoon when Florida Governor DeSantas announced that there is a ban on all dine-in restaurants. We will try "Take Out" only-- even though it is not in our repertoire on Saturday 03-21-2020 before deciding what to do. We have had to "lay off" nearly all our staff today. It both saddens me and worries me because they are a real part of our family, some with over seven years with us, day-to-day in the trenches. I am concerned for all the merchants in Mount Dora. I think of all of our first res-ponders who will be coming up close and personal fighting this pandemic. I can not emphasize how much small businesses that get to remain open for now need your support. Our personal favorites, (books, boutiques,specialty merchants) will suffer with the closure of the restaurants. All the great people we surround ourselves with every day will vanish from the streets. Oh my Gosh! Chris our postman who goes in and out of every building--I hope he will be safe. All our vendors, what will happen to them? I worry about everyone we have employed over the years including all of our favorite musicians: Petrina, Alan Darcy, Andrea Tyler, Safia Valines and Ennis Pruiett, to name a few. We will miss seeing our customers the most-- because they are "family". We will miss all of "The Orlando Storytellers" that treat our customers to fun every second Tuesday of the month. Together, we have built a huge following for them in the past five years within our walls.I worry about everyone's livelihood, and health. We hope that things will return to a "new" normal in the passing weeks, and that we get to host everyone again soon. In the meantime, please be safe, stay healthy, let us know how you are coping and stay in touch. Most importantly take care of those that need help around you without endangering yourselves. We hope to wish you all well in person soon! IF YOU ARE SICK PLEASE GET MEDICAL HELP and then SELF-QUARANTINE.. We all need to take steps to eradicate this virus!
