Big news for Central Florida foodies this summer!

We’re launching something new for Mount Dora’s food scene. 🍽️

Mount Dora has always been a place where people make plans around a meal — dinner downtown, lunch with friends, drinks on the patio, a favorite spot you keep coming back to, or a new restaurant you’ve been meaning to try.

Now, we’re bringing that energy together for the first-ever Mount Dora Area Restaurant Week, happening Saturday, July 25 through Sunday, August 2.

For one week, participating restaurants will offer special prix fixe-style lunch and dinner menus, with lunch menus capped at $30 and dinner menus capped at $50 (in addition to the regular menu and specials). It’s a new summer dining promotion designed to celebrate our local restaurants and give residents and visitors another reason to explore the area’s food scene.

Our initial restaurant lineup has been announced, and the list is still growing. Restaurants interested in participating can contact the Chamber to join the fun.

The news is out!

We're so excited to announce renovations to the Mount Dora Visitor Center starting Sunday, June 14th.

Don't worry, the Visitor Center will be temporarily re-located in the Train Depot in the same building while Cat 6 Roofing & Construction works their magic.

The Chamber is grateful to be the recipient of funding from the Mount Dora Community Trust to make this renovation possible! We're so excited for the final result.

Uptown and Downtown Mount Dora ROLL CALL 📣

Donnelly Street is back, and we’re turning the detour into a comeback.

On Thursday, May 21, the City of Mount Dora will mark the reopening of Donnelly Street with a ribbon cutting, and the road is expected to reopen to traffic in both directions shortly after — around 1:30 PM.

So now the Visitor Center wants to know:

Who’s celebrating?

Downtown businesses, drop your specials, deals, live music, happy hours, featured menu items, shopping promos, Memorial Day weekend plans, or big “we made it through construction season” energy in the comments.

Residents, visitors, regulars, and Mount Dora fans: this is your invitation to scroll the comments, pick a few stops, and come show downtown some love.

Grab lunch. Stay for dinner. Shop the side streets. Take the long way home. Bring someone who has been waiting for the road to reopen.

Florida heat is officially here, which means indoor event spaces are having their moment.

The Mount Dora Historic Train Depot offers a cool, charming setting right in the heart of downtown for showers, birthdays, intimate weddings, business meetings, luncheons, and more.

Originally built in 1915 and beautifully restored, the Depot brings historic Mount Dora character indoors — with exposed beams, heart-of-pine flooring, tables and chairs included, private parking, and space for up to 84 guests.

Need a summer-friendly spot for your next gathering? The Depot is available for rentals between 7 AM and 11 PM.

Yesterday was a great reminder of how much that patio at the Historic Train Depot can really come to life.

With 550+ people coming through for the Mount Dora Ice Cream Stroll & Pup Walk, it became the natural starting point—full of energy from the moment check-in opened and staying that way all afternoon. Between the flow of guests and the ice cream stations set up outside, the space didn’t just support the event—it helped drive it.

It’s easy to think of the Depot as an indoor venue, but days like this show how impactful the outdoor space can be too.
