Emma Collin Sears Marsh (1871-1960) was an artist known for her exquisite watercolor paintings documenting the flora of New York and Florida12. Born in Geneva, New York, she was the daughter of Mary L. Collin and James Sanford Sears. Her father’s work in a plant nursery greatly influenced her interest in botany and horticulture. Throughout her career, Emma created over 900 stunning floral watercolors, capturing the beauty of various wildflower species. Some of these species are now extinct, making her works valuable as both art and botanical records2. Unfortunately, there isn’t a photograph of Emma herself, but her legacy lives on through her remarkable art
