So much fun unwrapping paintings by a newly represented artist!! Welcome to the Gallery Jeff Bye Jeff Bye !! Looking forward to getting these pieces on display in the showroom .. you’re definitely in the right place. 💫🫶🙌❤️🙌

Stay tuned for more posts and updates ..

Jeffrey Bye (b. 1971) is a painter. He attended The Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) for his undergraduate degree and spent a year abroad in Italy under the European Honors Program. He received his MFA in painting from School of Figurative Art, also known as The New York Academy. He is still the youngest Master to be indoctrinated into the Copley Society of Boston at 26 years old where he was given his first solo show.

Although Jeff’s subject matter has varied over the years, he has been consistent with his smart use of color and composition. Currently, he has been drawn to capturing and preserving images of our country’s urban decay as well as the people who inhabit the environments. Having lived in Brooklyn, NY for 15 years has fed this ongoing intrigue. Jeff seeks to demonstrate the beauty in the forgotten in a society where new industry draws our attention away from it.

Please join us this Wednesday August 19 from 5-7 pm for the Opening reception of “It’s Not What You Look At But What You See” at the Gallery at Somes Sound.

This largest exhibit of the season Features WILLIAM HOYT, ERNEST MCMULLEN , RETT STURMAN and DAVID VICKERY. Four New England realists responding to the world around them, with the distinct observation of accurate detail (light, form and texture), while still capturing subjects often revealing the emotional depth beneath the surface of everyday life. It’s a disciplined practice of “seeing” rather than just looking, translating objective reality through personal perception.

We hope to see you there.. 🫶
