HOW MANY YEARS HAVE YOU BEEN SWINGING A ROPE?

Tamie: Been roping 57 years. Started at 8 years old.

Steve: 40 years.

WHO GOT YOU STARTED IN TEAM ROPING?

Tamie: Started roping with my dad, Lloyd Vaught, my uncle, Larry Vaught and my brother, Dave Vaught.

Steve: So called friends.

HUSBAND/WIFE'S NAME:

Tamie: Steve

Tamie: Stepson, Beau.

Steve: Son, Beau.

WHAT DID/DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING WHEN YOU AREN'T CHASING STEERS?

Tamie: Several jobs through the years.

Steve: Prison Guard.

YOUR CURRENT NUMBER ONE MOUNT?

Tamie: Max.

Steve: Cowboy.

BEST HORSE YOU'VE EVER OWNED OR RIDDEN?

Tamie: The horse I started on, Charlie. (Walt Woodward wanted to buy him back in the day)

Steve: Ski.

YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE WIN OR PROUDEST ROPING MOMENT?

Tamie: I've been blessed to have several over the years but probably winning the Professional Women's Rodeo Association team roping (PWRA) back in 1995. #9 Average at the National Finals.

Steve: The World Cup.

YOUR FAVORITE JACKPOT OR RODEO TO WIN?

Silver Series is back for the 2026-27 season!

Our first roping of the new season is September 5 at Cross-Bar Arena.

Our 85% payback High Roller ropings are back again this year - second roping of the day is the
12.5 Slide High Roller.

We are also adding a new roping this season and we are excited about it: the Outlaw Alfalfa Cowboy Classic 11.5. Five styles, one head, fastest time wins, 100% payback, 10 teams. See the flyer for the format and how to enter.

We could post it on Thursday and call it Throwback Thursday. We could post it on Monday and call it Meet Your Roper Monday. We could call it lots of different catchy titles. We are going to start introducing everyone to some of our ropers.
