Hettinger County Community — We Need Your Input!
The Hettinger County Activities Association is reaching out for your help. Month after month, year after year, our volunteers dedicate countless hours and resources to planning events to bring our community together. Unfortunately, attendance and participation continue to be low.
We want to keep our fairgrounds active and offer events our community enjoys, but we can't continue as we are. We need to hear from you!
What kinds of events would you like to see? What would you and your families actually attend? Do you have ideas, suggestions, or recommendations? We want to hear them!
Our goal is to make the fairgrounds a place our community wants to gather, but we can't do it alone. We are in serious consideration of closing up shop. We need your feedback and support to move forward.

The 2nd Annual Trail of Bales Decorating Contest is coming up Saturday, October 17th, 2026 starting at 5 PM MT! This year we’ve added something fun for the Pheasant Hunters! 🪶🐦

🌾 Trail of Bales Decorating Contest:
Grab some friends, family, coworkers and decorate a bale! This year we are doing a theme for our bale decorating contest - 🇺🇸 250 years of America! 🇺🇸
• $10/team
• Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd
• Only one round bale will be provided
*Registration is required by October 10th!

🪶Longest Tailfeather Contest:
• $10/bird — payout to the top 3 longest feathers
• Max 3 birds/person
• 100% payback
• Tail feather must be attached to the bird at entry
*No need to register

🌶️ Chili Competition:
• $10 entry fee
• Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd
• Judges will be anonymous
• Everyone is invited to sample the Chili’s!
* Registration required!

🎯 Co****le Tournament:
• $20/team
• Double elimination
• 50% payback
*No need to register

🚌 And come hungry — 307•Pitfired•Q Food Truck will be set up!

We’re headed back out to the fairgrounds. Give us about 15 minutes and the bar will be open! Band is going to finish setting up and we’ll be ready to rock!!!!

Guess what?!?! All 13 tokens are still out there...nobody wants a free drink?!

If kiddos find them they can turn them in for a Shirley Temple or Roy Rogers!

They are hidden around the Fairgrounds, some inside and some outside...get out here and start hunting!!

We have 13 b**r tokens hidden around the fairgrounds. If you find one bring it to the b**r garden and it is redeemable for 1 free b**r or single mixed drink!
