Well I like swatching.
I know some of you don't. This started as a pattern from a book, but the initial cable asked to be staggered so I'm working on that, added some basket weave and a tiny cable and some twisted stitches.

Thinking maybe I will pick a sweater pattern that I have already knit and lay some cables in, eh?

THIS is the yarn we call Mazama, it is a custom made blend of Targhee and Cormo wools from a nice ranch in Montana. 330y/100g, i am knitting on size 4 and it is very happy and squishy.

It's been a while since I appeared at an outdoor fest with a fresh load of all new yarn. Look what I've been up to this summer-- Mazama, Silky Mo, Switchback Sock, and closer looks.

I am enjoying a slower pace of life this summer, staying hometo dye, making a few day trips, enjoying a garden and planting flowers everywhere.

Same dye recipe. Naturally colored wool.

The left is 2022 Mazama, an 80/20 blend of Cormo and Targhee--- all of the Cormo is dark grey, 80% grey, so the skeins are pretty dark.

The right is this year's Mazama, 52% Targhee, 48% Cormo-- and this time, only about 18% of the batch is a natural grey.

Result? Brighter colors this year!

Warping the Jane loom with a wool and linen blend.
