The Joyce-Fritz Dance Academy: At The Roxy

This past weekend we had our first ever spring recital at The Roxy Theater in Morton. We had about 60 people in the audience, and the show lasted a whole 20 minutes! The length of the show didn't stop the love from pouring out of all these dancers on the stage. Im thankful to have been able to share the stage with each and every one of you, and I can't wait until we do it again!!

Thank you to my parents ( Matthew March Rachel March ) who have supported my dancing since I was young, taught me how to finish strong no matter what, and showed me how to follow my heart and my dreams no matter what life throws at me. Thank you for your help on last minute things, and being willing to jump in at any moment to be my volunteers.
Thank you to every dance parent for supporting your own child in their dance career, and helping me make my dreams come true.
Thank you to all my dancers I have taught for trusting me to teach you what I know. Thank you for eveeything you have taught me as well! I hope you continue to dance to whatever music is playing, and never let anyone dull your sparkle.
Thank you to the Roxy Theater and The Fire Mountain Arts Council for supporting my studio for the past year. From teaching classes in the Tiller, to performing in the Roxy I have loved each moment with these dancers. I hope the community continues to support your programs so we can keep the arts alive in Morton!
Thank you to my friend Ty for everything you have done for these dancers. Ty was my co-teacher in my classes, and learned alongside the dancers. I'm so proud of her for stepping out of her comfort zone and dancing with us this year!!
Last but not least, thank you to each and every one of you reading this. Without you my dream of owning a dance studio wouldn't have come to light. Without you I wouldn't have found myself again, and had the confidence to make other decisions for myself. Thank you everyone for your support this past year!
The future of The Joyce-Fritz Dance Academy is unknown to me fully, but I do know that I will be back to reopen my dance studio one day.

Recital is almost here!!!

Exciting things are happening behind the scenes!

Are you looking for a new way to stay fit this year?
I have the perfect class for you!
Adult Dance is on Wednesdays from 5-6pm in downtown Morton at the Tiller.
This class will have 2 parts; Stretch & Strengthen and Dance Workout. We will start with Stretch & Strengthening on January 8th, then Dance Workout on the 15th. We will swap each week because I don't have the time in my schedule to have separate classes just yet.

Classes will go by a drop-in rate of $15 per class. I also have Dance Cards available for sale online; $55 for 4 classes, and $110 for 8 classes.

Registration is open online at jfdanceacademy.com. Even if you are just thinking about trying out the class, hope over and create an account on my online system DanceStudio-Pro. This helps me keep track of payments and how many people I have per class

I hope everyone enjoyed the break! Next week we are jumping back into classes on Wednesday!! I can't wait to get back into class with everyone and start working on recital pieces. I will share more info on recital in a few weeks, but I'm hoping it will be sometime in June.

The class schedule is still the same starting in the new year!
2-3pm Intro to Dance age 3-6
3-4pm Musical Theater Dance age 7-10
4-5pm Musical Theater Dance age 11+
5-6pm Adult Class
-1st and 3rd Wednesday Stretch and Strengthen
-2nd and 4th Wednesday Dance Workout

I have changed up my Adult Class to a drop in rate of $15, $55 for a 4 class punch card, or $110 for an 8 class punch card. (I will post more about these classes soon, but registration online is open!)

HEADS UP DANCE FAMILY!!
Classes tomorrow will be backstage at the Roxy Theater, which is just next door! The fun part about sharing spaces is doing a little shuffle every once in a while. Please meet in the lobby of the Roxy and I will meet you there. I'm excited to dance in a different space with everyone, but next week we will be back in the Tiller! Thanks All!! 💕

Since my emails aren't making it to everyone, here is the schedule for classes this month. Classes are running as usual for the first 3 weeks of December, and we will come back to classes on January 8th!

I am also offering the adult class as a drop-in rate, so if you don't want to commit to a full month you can try it out before the New Year!

🚨*New Class Alert!*🚨
I will be adding an Adult Stretch and Strengthen class to my schedule on Wednesdays at 6pm in the Tiller! I'm so excited to offer this class because I've been getting asked about adult classes since the beginning.

This class will start next week on November 6th from 5-6pm. Tuition is $50 per month, and classes will be held each week!
If you are unsure about joining the class, just come try it out next Wednesday and see how you like it! Head to the studio website and click on "sign up" to register. If you already have a DSP account for your child, all you have to do is add yourself as another student to then register for the class.

As always, if there are any questions, please reach out to me! I'm learning a little but each day how to be a better studio owner, and I appreciate everyones patience as I figure things out.

Did you know that JFDA has an app?

Once you register online you can download the Dance Studio Pro Portal app in the appstore. This way you can stay up to date on your child's classes and tuition! I am able to send messages to parents through the app. I will send out emails occasionally with more detailed info, but I'm super excited to be able to connect with my dance families in this way!

I've been having so much fun these past few weeks, seeing so many smiling faces in my studio! I can't wait for more to come! 💕

As we near closer to classes starting, the excitement is really building!

Tuition is $50 per month/per child.

First Day of classes is September 18th!!!!

Intro to Dance age 3-6 --- 2-3pm
Musical Theater Dance age 7-10 --- 3-4pm
Musical Theater Dance age 11-13 --- 4-5pm
Musical Theater Dance age 14+ --- 5-6pm

What is Musical Theater Dance?

This question has been asked a lot, so I thought I should share some of my plans for the class.
In this class students will learn about the theater, theater etiquette, count music, play characters, dance while singing, how to have fun while performing, and basic dance moves from many styles. Choreography from this class will feature styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Hula, Hip-Hop, and Modern.

FUN FACT!
Did you know that stages used to be raked? Meaning that upstage and downstage were actually UP and DOWN not back and front like it is today. This was most common from the middle ages to the 20th century to improve sight lines for the audience. Now we have flat stages and seating that is lifted above the stage.
