When designing a bag pattern I start by sketching it on my iPad. The second step is to make one out of paper. This helps it come to life because sometimes the math just doesn’t math in a 3D object. Lucky for me this bag mathed and quickly became one of my favorite bags to date. Ive made 10 so far and have a few more in the works.

Introducing the Take A Trip Toiletry Bag. This bag has been a sketch in my book for a while now and finally came to life at retreat back in October. I made a few tweaks based on the input of some pretty amazing retreat friends and finally had a chance to finish them. Sits nicely on the counter but can also hag on a hook and holds a ton.

One of my favorite weeks of the year wrapped up the other day and I’ve finally caught up on sleep. So much creativity packed into 1 space. Late night cutting table chats, laughing so hard someone snorts, so many snacks, and most of all friendships that pick up where we left off no matter how many months it’s been since we last saw each other. The support that this group has for each other is unmatched.
My makes for the week include:
- Jelly Stripes made with various fabric
- A Fish Quilt “Salt Water Fish”
- Snap Happy (part of the quilt)
- 7 Samples of my next pattern
- The “Contagion” Pouch of 2025

Rounding out the pictures with my annual look what we made picture with Just missing this time.
