Words of Wisdom : February 2021
Shivratri Blessings. Very happy Shivratri to everyone! This day is also known as the Rishi Bodh day as this is the day, the great rishi, as a child, realized the invalidity of some of the religious beliefs prevailing at the time and embarked on discovering the truth that applied to the world and the creator (God), and led to happier and progressive world and life. Once enlightened, the rishi brought renaissance to the understanding of the faith and the life associated with it by promoting the practice that was highly rational and spiritually and socially uplifting.
The moral of it all is that practicing one’s faith (beliefs), whatever, with a searching mind allows one to discover the truth and make progress in life! Vedic Dharma principles 4, 5, 8, emphasize this teaching. Accordingly, one should not believe in status quo but be constantly learning what is rational and improving one’s ways! Prayer (meditation), we are discussing, is the path for it.
