This year is a very special year, because our 4 Seniors have been with us since year 1 and have all grown up into the most beautiful, talented, and smart young ladies. This group is very special to me, and I pray they know how loved they are!
Today our **SENIOR SPOTLIGHT** is on LYRA WATSON!!
Here’s what she had to say when asked to reflect on her time at The Barre Dance Company!
“Dance has taught me how we can utilize our gift to not only express ourselves but also to honor God. I love that many of our pieces are focused on sharing his word and bringing people closer to the lord.
Through dance I have learned the importance of patience, hard work, and accountability. These 3 qualities have been super valuable both inside and outside of the studio.
I have made so many amazing memories during my time dancing at the Barre but my favorite has to be our Christmas party when we all made ornaments at Molly’s house. It was such a fun afternoon where we danced, laughed, and truly bonded as a company. Since then, every year we have made sure to have our Christmas party (even if its had to be in January).
Cherish your classmates. Throughout your years dancing you will have many different and amazing teachers but the girls next to you will always be your biggest supporters. They will be there for all of your breakthroughs, frustrations, accomplishments, and even your falls (literally). So value those relationships because one day it’ll be time to graduate and everyone will be moving away but you know you can always count on those friendships, whether they are in Tuscaloosa, Auburn, or Mississippi.
