Ben Saxon of Moriarty has won a 1993 Peggy Award from Popular Ceramics Magazine for a bowl inspired by ancient Mimbres designs. Often, he and his father would visit the Cherokee reservation. He has won Best of Show and First Premium ribbons for his ceramics at the New Mexico State Fair, the New Mexico Ceramic Assn. Show, Torrance County Fair, and many other shows. Natural clays are specially blended together to create a high quality white pottery which serves as an excellent vehicle for the artist's expressions.
