One of the best parts of being a photographer is finding out that one of my clients has achieved something awesome, especially when that means earning both a pageant title AND Miss Photogenic! I want to extend a HUGE congratulations to Kennedy, your newly crowned Teen Miss Morganton!
I had such a fun time photographing Kennedy for her pageant headshots, and I was so excited to hear that she not only earned the Teen Miss Morganton title, but also won Miss Photogenic with the portraits we created together.
Kennedy’s studio headshot session also gave me the chance to return to my photographic roots at TPS Photography, where my own portrait career began. Creating her portraits in that space, then finding out they helped her earn Miss Photogenic, made the whole experience feel pretty full circle.
Kennedy is much more than a beautiful face in front of the camera. As we say here in the South, she’s as sweet as pie, but she’s also a talented dancer, a hardworking student, and someone who clearly puts a lot of effort into the things she cares about.
Congratulations, Kennedy! I’m so excited to see what this year brings for you as Teen Miss Morganton.

What??? I can't believe I missed this photo of the STUNNING Christian Kerpaws and Richard Kershaw! I'm sure you've seen the other picture that started all of this, but I've gotta send some love to my OG adventure couple! OMG! I totally forgot to wish one of my favorite couples a happy wedding day and a BIG CONGRATULATIONS! Aimee and Khaldoun got married in June and live in Chicago. They hired me to create adventurous and romantic engagement portraits for them in the fall. I called my friend Elio De La Cruz Photography & Films and asked him if we could photograph at him and his girlfriend's venue, Villa Esmeralda. If you've never seen it, you need to! It has the perfect blend of mountain scenery, open fields, woods, and even a large pond.
Congrats, Aimee and Khaldoun! I miss you guys!

You remember those epic honeymoon portraits Kennedy Lee and I had made in the Dolomites four years ago? When it was time to celebrate our anniversary, I knew exactly who to call: my friend and wildly talented Italian photographer, Luca Gallizio.

This session marked so many meaningful things for us—Kennedy’s first trip to Iceland, four years of marriage, my 40-pound weight-loss journey, and another chapter of loving and choosing each other. Having Luca capture it all in one of the most breathtaking places on earth made it even more special.

And let’s be honest: the man behind the lens is a genius.

Luca scaled a glacier with us, explored the Yoda Cave, watched the most incredible sunrise over Iceland’s famous black sand beach, and stood in awe of the majesty of Skógafoss—all while creating images that feel cinematic, emotional, and completely true to us.

But what happens when the photographer becomes the subject?

When I saw Luca looking especially epic in Iceland, I asked him to step in front of my camera. He happily obliged—and “happily” may be an understatement. Luca is genuinely one of the most joyful, generous, and jolly people I know, and I was thrilled to create a few portraits for him, too.

As a professional photographer, it is incredibly important to me to invest in professional photography for my own life. I want my clients to know that I value portraits in the same way I ask them to value theirs. These photographs are not simply beautiful images. They are part of our story, our marriage, our growth, and the legacy we are building together.

So, let me officially introduce you to my friend Luca: the Italian genius behind the lens and the photographer responsible for both our Dolomites honeymoon portraits and our Iceland anniversary photographs.

Thank you for another unforgettable adventure and another collection of images we will treasure forever, Luca. You are truly one of the best.

Over the span of the 2025-2026 school year, I photographed Bri three times--senior portraits, cap and gown, and a dance session. All I can say is that girlfriend can model! Sessions like this really let my creativity flow and take the pressure off of me so that I can do what I do best--CREATE! Here are some of my favorite images from her senior session...I never knew you could make a golf course look so dramatic! And do you know what showed up? Check out the last photo to find out!

Hannah, you freaking rock. I know I threw a lot of ideas at you, but you ran with it and I'm so thankful. It has been such an honor to watch you grow up, laugh at your jokes, teach you, and see what an amazing human you are! You are loved beyond measure by your family, friends, and community!

It's a Jeep thang...

Carrie told me she’s not really a “dress person,” but I’m not sure she sees how gorgeous she really is. In her mind, she’s more the rock climbing, let’s-go-do-something adventurous type—strong, capable, and not afraid to get a little dirt on her hands (and her Jeep tires).

Which is exactly why I wanted her in one of my flying dresses—to show that you don’t have to fit into a mold. You can choose to define your own self-image, instead of letting the media do it for you. A woman can be strong, adventurous, and physically, emotionally, and intellectually strong in the same body. Carrie looked incredible in that green dress out there—and she didn’t have to fit anyone else’s idea of femininity to do it.

That’s the thing I think a lot of people miss. You don’t have to fit into one version of yourself. You can be strong and outdoorsy and still throw on something dramatic and make it work. One doesn’t cancel out the other. This wasn’t about changing who she is. It was just helping her discover another side of it.
And selfishly… I’ve been waiting to get this green dress on someone like her.
