I redid the tomatoes on a plate using tomatoes I bought and arranging them on a blue plate and blue background. The last picture was following the tutorial from Sara Sedwick and using a reference photo from her. This go around, I did this on my own using what I learned from the tutorial. I’m happier with the plate this time as it’s a little more round. Let me know what you think! This is oils on a canvas panel.

This was such a fun lesson by through . Oil - Winsor Newton Cadmium Red Deep Hue and Winsor Newton Viridian. My next step will be to set up my still life photo (maybe not using a round plate 😂) using a complimentary colors.

More work done on this today. It’s a learning process and I keep reminding myself that I won’t be as good as someone who has been doing this for a couple of decades. Hope to finish over the next couple of days. This is my practice run so I did it on paper. May do a couple more on paper before trying it on canvas. is a phenomenal teacher. Maybe one day my plate will be more round 😂.

A little bit of string today. A color study using Winsor Newton’s Cadmium Red dark and Viridian in oil and a thumbnail sketch that will be eventually painted using the color study. This is from an online course but I hope to do my own still life study with items of my own choosing.

I think we are finally settled enough in a routine here in Arizona where I can start focusing on my art again.
