This morning, the community came together to remember and honor those lost on September 11, 2001, and the many lives forever changed by that day.

The day began with a Silent Remembrance Walk from Richard’s Coffee Shop to Liberty Park, followed by the 25th Anniversary September 11 Memorial Ceremony. It was a beautiful and moving morning of remembrance, reflection and gratitude.

A special thank you to all of the speakers and performers who shared their time, voices and talents to make the ceremony so meaningful.

September 13 | Fondo Charity Bike Ride | 7:30 a.m.
Grab your bike and join the Mooresville Fondo for a day of cycling, community, and giving back! With routes for riders of all experience levels, this event is a great way to stay active while supporting important local and regional causes, including the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention, Be Well Iredell, Iredell Health Foundation, and the Top of Lake Rotary Club.

September 17 | Fall Speaker Series | 6:30 p.m.

Tomorrow, We Remember.

As the 25th anniversary of September 11 approaches, the Town of Mooresville, Mooresville/Lake Norman Exchange Club and Richard’s Coffee Shop invite the community to come together for a morning of remembrance and reflection.

8 a.m. — Gathering at Richard’s Coffee Shop
8:46 a.m. — Silent Remembrance Walk to Liberty Park
9 a.m. — 25th Anniversary Memorial Ceremony at Liberty Park

The ceremony will include remarks from Assistant Special Agent in Charge Kevin Swanson and Bob Hogan, President & CEO of Clermont Trust USA, LLC, along with a performance by Anthony Kearns of The Irish Tenors.

Following the ceremony, the community is invited back to Richard’s Coffee Shop for brunch.

Please join us tomorrow, September 11, as the Mooresville community comes together to remember those we lost, honor those who served and reflect on the lasting impact of September 11, 2001.

Throughout September, Downtown Mooresville is hosting 25 Years Later: A 9/11 Walking Art Exhibit, featuring artwork inspired by the memory and lasting impact of September 11, 2001.
