DMS had a visit to our headquarters from one of the top radio personalities in the nation on Oct 17th. Beestroh and his association from Atlanta visited with DMS, with an open discussion of the power of NASCAR and the possibility of the Hip-hop community considering entering the Nationwide and Trucking Series. Beestroh is the top DJ in the Atlanta, at 107.9. We at DMS got the chance to learn a great deal about the mindset of the Hip Hop community and how we could possible work together.

Congrats to Matt Murphy for being the first African-American driver to win the Charlotte Motor Speedway Winter Heat Series.

Congratulations again to our Rising Star prodigy, Matt Murphy. Matt won the 2012 Winter Heat Series Championship. He never ceases to amaze us with his comeback victories. Next up for Matt Saturday, February 18th Matt takes his winning ways to Ace Speedway in Burlington, NC. After that he races Saturday, February 25th at Orange County Speedway.

Diversity Motorsports again congratulates our young Rising Star, Matt Murphy. Matt finished 2nd at the Dillon Motor Speedway race last week in South Carolina and won over quite a few new fans. Starting next week, Matt is heading for Charlotte Motor Speedway to take on the 6-week Winter Heat Series. He is considered one of the favorites and we wish him best of luck!

DMS would like to congraulate our young Rising Star driving prodigy, Matt Murphy, for finishing strong in 2011 with a come from behind victory in his first race ever at the Ace Speedway in December. The first of the year Matt races at Dillon motor speedway in South Carolina and DMS wishes him the best of luck!

On behalf of our racing organization and all minority motorsports fans across this country, Diversity Motorsports would like to express a sincere thank you to Ms. Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden for their appearance last Sunday at the NASCAR Sprint Cup event at Miami-Homestead. Their participation as the Grand Marshalls of the race had a positive impact, which will be felt through out the motorsports community and the millions of “twilight” racing fans: A new demographic audience if you like.Young and old of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds and different beliefs. They have a love for motorsports and are wishing to put an emotional investment in a Racing Team, but are struggling to find one that truly represents them. They are the focus of Diversity Motorsports and specifically our Racing For Education program binding us together through a shared love of motorsports and the absolute necessity to educate our children.

Under the current global economic malaise, the motorsports industry needs to evolve and we genuinely believe that the DMS approach will benefit the industry and through the Racing For Education initiative the very fabric of our future via support of our children’s education. The foundation has been laid. That being said, one of the most significant events that will energize our efforts and boost our progress was Ms.Obama's and Dr.Biden's appearance at the Miami-Homestead Sprint Cup race. They continue to make history and we will be forever in their debt for that special appearance.
