I’m often asked if Santa Fe Trail Jewelry offers permanent jewelry — those delicate bracelets that are welded closed around your wrist.

The answer is no, and there are several reasons why.

First, bracelets live a surprisingly hard life. They encounter soap, lotions, household cleaners, swimming pools, hot tubs, and everything else our hands get into.

Second, I LOVE BRACELETS! Why would I want to wear the same one every day?

Bracelets are one of the biggest categories at Santa Fe Trail Jewelry. I want the creative power to wear turquoise today, silver tomorrow, gemstones on Saturday, stack three together, and perhaps something wonderfully old and Native American when the mood strikes me.

Jewelry is personal. It changes with what we’re wearing, where we’re going and sometimes simply with who we feel like being that day.

I’ll happily sell you one you can take off tonight...

because tomorrow you might want to wear a different one.

I’ve always believed that extraordinary jewelry is worth waiting for.

These two bracelets have held places of honor, front and center in my Native American case, for years. They’ve been admired countless times—and now, within the last month, both have sold.

I choose my jewelry carefully. I don’t mind paying more for a piece when the workmanship, stones and design are exceptional. And I don’t mind waiting for the person who recognizes those same qualities.

These were never simply inventory to me. They were showcase pieces.

Seeing them both leave is a little bittersweet—but also wonderfully affirming. Beautiful craftsmanship doesn’t go out of style. Sometimes it simply waits for the right collector.
