Colorado 2026 officially launches tonight at 6:00 p.m. MT, and the Montrose Recreation District is ready to go.

Give early to make the biggest impact — the first $1 million raised online tonight will be matched dollar-for-dollar. After that first $1 million is matched, an Incentive Fund will boost eligible online gifts through Sept. 15, so it’s never too late to make a difference.

Meet Rookie the Otter, Montrose Recreation District’s new mascot!

Rookie made his big debut at Youth Appreciation Day, and let’s just say… the shenanigans did not disappoint! There were plenty of high-fives, hugs, photos, and even some dancing.

Keep an eye out for Rookie around the community! You might spot him at the Rec Center, Ute or McNeil Sports Fields, the Senior Center, or wherever there’s fun happening.

A big thank you to everyone who voted and helped us bring Rookie to life. We can’t wait to see where he pops up next!
