✨ The Geometry of a Kiss ✨
“Art does not reproduce what we see; rather, it makes us see.” — Paul Klee
In this stunning bronze sculpture by Etienne Pirot, love is stripped of the superfluous and refined into pure emotion and form. The way the two faces merge, the elegant extension of the arm, and the fluid, stylized lines perfectly capture the weightless, floating feeling of true connection.
Pirot’s signature cubist-inspired, smooth bronze work transforms a fleeting moment of intimacy into an eternal masterpiece.

Two figures. One form. The space between them charged with everything unspoken.

We Two is the work of Ga***rd Ho — a sculptor born in 1950 in Hsin-Wu, Taiwan, to a family of rice farmers, who grew up knowing he wanted to make art and refused to be talked out of it. He graduated at the top of his class from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts, served his military service, then travelled to Japan to study under some of the great Japanese sculptors of his generation. The journey from that rice paddy to international galleries is quite a story.

What you're looking at is cast in Parian II™ — a material Ga***rd Ho literally invented himself, collaborating with a foundry over years of experimentation. The original Parian ware, developed in 1851 to mimic carved marble at a lower cost, was brittle and chalky. Ho encountered it in a London museum and set out to improve it. The result is warm, smooth, and as durable as marble — the perfect medium for the luminous, classical quality his figurative work demands.

The two entwined figures of We Two share not just form but feeling. Ho's central preoccupation as a sculptor is emotion — specifically the challenge of translating the full weight of a human moment into the body, the pose, the turn of a head. Here, two people arc toward each other, their forms merging into a single graceful silhouette, as if connection itself has taken shape.

He begins his days at 5am, walks a mile to his swim club for Tai Chi and a 500-metre swim, then sculpts — often late into the night when the studio is finally quiet. That kind of discipline shows. ❤️
