Navasota High School FFA is offering dog grooming! I think its a great idea and programs like this should be offered at high schools everywhere.
Not every student wants or needs to attend a four-year college. Why not give teenagers the opportunity to learn real-world skills while they're still in school?
Dog grooming teaches students how to work with animals, patience, responsibility, customer service and a skill they can actually use to earn an income. It could even give a young person the confidence and experience to eventually open their own dog grooming business! ๐ถโ๏ธ
In addition to dog grooming, welding, automotive repair, cosmetology and culinary arts, it would be great if more hands-on programs were offered. Basic skills such as counting money, growing your own food, sewing, and cooking seem to be a lost art.
Give kids the opportunity to discover what they're good atโand show them there are many different paths to a successful future.
๐ Way to go, Navasota High School! More hands-on career programs like this would be a great investment in our kids AND our communities. ๐พ
Starting next Friday September 4th our dog grooming services will be open. Our Vet Med class offers dog grooming every Friday. Your dogs will receive a bath, blow-dry, nail trim, teeth brushing, and ear cleaning. All we need is a copy of up to date vaccination records on your dog. Drop off is from 7:30-8am and pick up is immediately after school at 3:45. Our students give walks throughout the day, and all dogs are provided with water. It is $10 for dogs 35lbs or less, and $15 for large dogs. Email Ms. Mouton at [email protected] with their shot records to reserve your appointment.
