Happy New Year from HCH Talent! 2022 was a busy year (more individual coaching clients, more summer students, more personal performances than I’ve had in a while), and I did a really terrible job of documenting all the accomplishments of my students. This year they had lead rolls in plays and musicals, made auditioned ensembles and school showchoirs, participated in music and theatre camps and workshops, competed in pageants and other competitions, all of which made me so proud. But at the end of the day, I am most grateful to have relationships that extend far beyond the notes on a page and allow me the chance to be a small part of their lives. Here’s to making music and memories together in 2023!

For the first time in almost 10 years of recitals, I forgot to get a group picture after last night’s holiday performance, but this year, more than ever, I’m just incredibly grateful to make music with my girls and watch them continue grow into fine musicians and even finer young women. What a way to welcome the spirit of the season. Merry Christmas from HCH Talent! ❤️🎄🎅🏼

Double the talent in today’s student spotlight! Mary Pitts (right) is an eighth grader at Pizitz Middle School and has been a student for the past 4 years. Mary has a powerhouse voice and is a true triple threat! Mary was recently selected as one of the youngest members of Performing Ensemble. 👏🏼 (left) is a new student this year and a freshman at Vestavia Hills High School. Addison has a classic musical theatre sound and fantastic control for someone so young! She was recently seen in the production of “The Adams Family.” 🤍Both girls are mega talented members of the RMTC Conservatory Program and wonderful assets to the HCH Talent studio!

There is such much that could be said about these two girls, but the words behind us say it all! Blakely and Annabelle have dedicated themselves to being their absolute best and embodied the pillars of the program. I couldn’t be prouder of their work ethic and performances. Congratulations to .berryhill on being named a Preliminary Interview winner and the Spirit of DYW winner voted on by her fellow participants! We’ve spent many hours together perfecting talents, fitness routines, self expression speeches, and mock interviews, and both girls held their own amidst fantastic contestants throughout Jefferson County!
