Wallkill River Center for the Arts Our mission is to preserve open space through art and art activism, and create economic opportunities for Orange County artists.

A nonprofit gallery and art school which welcomes all styles and media of art but with its roots in plein air (out-of-doors) painting and preserving open space through art and art activism, and creating economic opportunities for Orange County artists. The Wallkill River School is a nonprofit artists' cooperative that runs an art school and fine art gallery as well as a plein air art workshop series on local farms and open spaces.

This beginning watercolor class is focused on creating finished work! Each week, you’ll follow along with the instructor to complete a painting, focusing on painting fast and loose, learning the basics by doing them, and hopefully to have some fun along the way!

Elizabeth Keithline is both the curator for "Keep It Together", the assemblage group show as well as the featured solo exhibition artist in "Puzzle" at Wallkill River Center for the Arts.
"Puzzle" marks Elizabeth Keithline’s 23rd solo exhibition and "Keep It Together" will be her 23rd juried or curated group exhibition. She has exhibited widely across the United States, with solo shows at the Peabody Essex Museum, Danforth Museum, Newport Art Museum, UMass Amherst, and Wheaton College among others. Learn the fundamentals of creating beautiful outdoor paintings in this Plein Air class at the Popps Memorial Park! Using a limited palette, students will learn how to simplify the landscape, capture the essence of a scene, and create successful paintings outdoors. All mediums welcome. Instructor specializes in acrylic.

Students must bring their own supplies. Be sure to wear sun and bug protection, stay hydrated, and seek shade on hot days!

ABOUT THE 100 for 100 EVENT:
The 100 for $100 is a quick, fun afternoon social event, complete with complimentary refreshments and desserts. Each ticket holder may bring one guest to enjoy the event, but only ticket holders select a WORK OF ART. Come early on one of our preview times to see the art and make a list of your TOP TEN favorites so you are ready to select your artwork when your ticket number is called.
The excitement is not knowing for sure when your ticket number will be drawn and what piece you will win! The good news is everyone goes home with a piece of original art to cherish.Learn more and get your tickets here:
