Life has a way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it and priorities shift your path. Stress, my daddy’s progressing dementia, and wanting to be everything for everyone will tear you down unless you realize you can’t be everything for everyone.

That’s when you stop the noise, let go of the guilt, and take a step back. You start choosing quality over quantity—taking care of yourself, spending meaningful time with the people you love, and being fully present in the moments that actually bring you joy.

This is one of three pieces created with that mantra in mind and will be offered next week at Art Splash, an “Art in The Garden” annual fundraiser gala and online art auction to benefit the Montgomery Christian School (MCS) Scholarship Fund to educate students in our community who otherwise would be unable to receive this academically challenging education.

Knowing that every MCS student receives scholarship support—and that this event has raised over $1.5 million over the past 14 years—adds a deeper purpose to each piece. It’s not just about what’s on the canvas, but what it can do beyond it. I’m always so honored my art can play a part in something so meaningful.

And a big thank you to all who have stuck with me during my downtime on posting! And big hugs to all who are a daddy’s girl going through something similar or just navigating through new and sometimes dark and scary waters right now. I see you and know you are not alone XOXOXOXO đŸ©·đŸ©·
