-Ballet Arts was founded over 20 years ago when Director Kathleen McCloskey-Scott relocated from Metropolitan NY to Northern VT. Kathleen's objective in forming the school was to share her love of classical dance, properly train dancers in a rural environment,
educate students, families, and community members to the beauty, and disciplines of Classical Ballet. Ballet Arts offers dance classes from age 4-Pre- Ballet and Movement to Advanced Levels, and accepts recreational students as well as those who wish to study professionally. Classical Ballet is the programs core.

*Faculty: All of Ballet Arts faculty are trained professionals with professional stage, and teaching careers in dance or having earned Master Degrees. This also includes the Pre Ballet Classes
*Performance: Ballet is an Art form and Ballet Arts dance education is centered on the students training. All Ballet Arts students perform annually at the end of the school year in a staged performance. The Variation Classes perform in community settings; Nutcracker Variations, and by special arrangement, school interactive lecture performance demonstrations.
*Ballet Arts classical curriculum is based on body awareness of the center line for correct use of the muscles, breathe, strength, and flexibility. Students are evaluated through out the year, our ballet classes are graded according to age and ability and each ballet level fulfills its own syllabus.
*Kathleen was trained by a protege of George Balanchine, and numerous other noteworthy teachers. She is a passionate teacher and has developed a reputation among her peers as producing well trained dancers. Her teachings include training innumerable students over the years; helping many to attend some of the top Conservatory's', Colleges, and Universities for Dance. Many have also chosen Professional Careers in Dance, and Performing.
