🖤💛 Some moments remind us just how precious life is, and how deeply a single life can touch an entire community.

Our hearts are incredibly heavy as we stand alongside the Dawson-Boyd community in remembering a young life taken far too soon.

At Starlight On Main Theatre Company, we believe that a community is more than the place we call home. It is the people who lift one another up, the friendships we build, the memories we share, and the love that carries us through even the darkest of days.

While our stages may tell stories of love, hope, heartbreak, and togetherness, there are moments in life when words simply cannot express the sorrow we feel. This is one of those moments.

To the family, friends, teammates, classmates, and everyone whose life was touched by this young man, please know that you are not alone. Our hearts are with you, our prayers surround you, and our entire Starlight family stands beside you.

May the memories you hold close bring moments of comfort, may the love surrounding you give you strength, and may you always be reminded that his story, his spirit, and the impact he made will never be forgotten.

From our Starlight family to the entire Dawson-Boyd family, we are here for you. Today, tomorrow, and in the difficult days ahead.

🖤💛 Forever Our 64. Forever Remembered.

With heartfelt love and deepest sympathy,

Starlight On Main Theatre Company

🎹✨ MUSICIANS — STARLIGHT NEEDS YOU! ✨🎶

We’re getting ready to bring The Santa Switch to the Starlight stage this holiday season, and there’s one very important piece of our production puzzle we’re still looking for!

We are searching for a Rehearsal Pianist / Vocal Director to join our production team and work alongside Director Wyatt Haugen and our wonderful cast. 🎭🎄

And before you see “rehearsal pianist” and think I don’t have time for every rehearsal — you don’t have to! We’re happy to build the rehearsal calendar around your availability. We’re looking for someone who loves music, enjoys working with performers, and wants to help us make a little holiday theatre magic in Montevideo.

🎹 Rehearsal Pianist / Vocal Director
🎶 Work with our cast on vocals and music
📅 Flexible rehearsal schedule
💰 Stipend position
🎭 Community theatre experience is wonderful, but we’d also love to hear from music educators, accompanists, church musicians, college music students, and other talented local musicians!

Know someone who would be perfect? Please tag them, send them this post, or share it! Sometimes the right person is only one share away. ❤️

Interested? We’d love to hear from you!

Here’s a great opportunity for high school students interested in screenwriting!

Students are invited to connect with Stephen Markley, a writer for the Hulu comedy series Only Murders in the Building, during a special Creative Conversation on October 6 from 12:00–1:00 p.m.

📍 In Person: Black Box Theatre (FA 112) at SMSU
💻 Virtual: Join via Zoom

This is a wonderful chance for students to learn more about screenwriting, hear about Stephen’s experience working in the television industry, and ask questions about the creative process.

Please see the attached flyer for additional information.

Questions? Please contact Jessica Hennen at [email protected]

🎭✨ Apparently even the guy behind the curtain gets a birthday!

Today, we’re wishing a very Happy Birthday to our Founder and Chief Artistic Officer, Wyatt Haugen! 🎂

What started as a dream years ago has somehow turned into productions, late-night rehearsals, countless emails, a historic theatre, a few mildly chaotic adventures, and a whole lot of incredible people who have helped bring Starlight On Main to life.

Here’s to another trip around the sun, another year of big dreams, and probably several more ideas that start with, “Okay… hear me out.” 😂

Happy Birthday, Wyatt! 🎭❤️

🇺🇸 HONORING THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP OUR COMMUNITIES MOVING.

This Labor Day, Starlight On Main Theatre Company celebrates the people whose hard work, dedication, and service make places like ours possible.

The teachers. The farmers. The healthcare workers. The first responders. The small business owners. The tradespeople. The volunteers. And every person who gets up each day and puts their heart into what they do.

As we begin a new chapter at the historic Hollywood Theatre, we’re reminded that a theatre is so much more than a building. It is a gathering place built by generations of people who believed that our community deserved a place to come together, share stories, laugh, create, and dream.

That same spirit of hard work is what will carry the Hollywood into its next chapter.

Today, we celebrate you — the workers, dreamers, builders, and doers who make our communities what they are.

From all of us at Starlight On Main Theatre Company, thank you for everything you do.

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸
