We are thrilled to welcome guest artist Mike Gill for our 2026 Flood of Jazz festival! Mike Gill is a southwest Minnesota based saxophonist, guitarist, educator, and graduate of University of Minnesota- Morris. He is recognized for his soulful saxophone solos, and blues influenced guitar and vocal stylings.
Spending 10 years in the Twin Cities as a freelance musician, he performed with 8-piece funk band, PHO, releasing an album, Cash It! (2015), and collaborations with Psymun, Neon Brown, K. Raydio, RoBat, Maimo, Walking Phoenixes, STUBBORN, Malena Handeen & the Associates & Flute Loops. Playing notable venues such as First Ave, The Dakota, Turf Club, Detroit’s Cliff Bells, Reggie’s Chicago, Folsom, CA - Three Stages, L.A.’s Borderline to name a few.
Gills teaching experience includes 1 on 1 saxophone lessons, guitar lessons, piano lessons, as well as guest clinician at Holdingford High School, & Tracy/Milroy Elementary/Middle School.
Currently, Gill is working an office job and in his free time, focusing on his craft as a musician and performing locally at Java River and the Bluenose Gopher. Gill is excited to work with Ms. Landmark and the Montevideo High School Jazz Band.
