Today meet Grover (L. Velazquez), Annabeth (Piper), and Luke (Atticus). These are Percy's three best friends in this story. L. Velazquez and Atticus are long-time regulars to our stage, and all three of these actors were most recently in our last musical, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown".

Today, meet Sally Jackson/Charon (Brooke), Katie Gardner/Auntie Em (Sophia), Mr. Bruner/Chiron/Ares (Marigold), and Clarisse/Ensemble (Arielle). Brooke and Marigold are both new to the MMSP stage. Arielle was in "A Christmas Carol" a couple of years ago, and Sophia has been a regular with us for several years now, first appearing as Violet in "The Boxcar Children". All of them are phenomenal is their respective roles in "The Lightning Thief"!
Fun fact: At one point in the show, Brooke is wearing 5 layers due to the quick costume changes she has in the second half of the show!

Only in theatre can you walk around the corner and see this and think it’s normal. Shout-out to our awesome prop master for almost every show we do, Denise Barnes!! It’s not unusual to see Denise walking around with swords, plants, a “dead” cat, fake blood, a steering wheel, or Minotaur horns. And she has a place for everything and tries to keep everything in its place. If you’re looking for something backstage at MMSP, ask Denise. If she doesn’t know, it might not exist.
