We often think of the big leaps of our lives as being these culmination periods in which we have concrete, measurable proof that our lives are different than they were before — but the real transformation is internal.
The real growth is much quieter. The real journey begins the day we decide to do one small thing differently than we did before — and then to allow that momentum to build, and to grow, and to reform itself into a new comfort zone, one that comes to define the people we are yet to be.
It is okay if you have not arrived yet, what matters more is that you are at the place of having decided. Decided that you will no longer settle for a life that does not feel fully lived. Decided that you will find your way out of whatever storm you may find yourself in right now, even if that has to happen one painstaking step at a time.
Decided that you will open your heart. Decided that you will choose what’s true. Decided that you will speak with honesty. Decided that you will commit yourself to living more fully — no matter how long it takes you to be in it without thinking so hard about it.
I hope that you can look back and say that this was the year that changed your life.
Not because you woke up one day and everything was suddenly different, but because you lived with the intention to keep planting seeds within your potential — and nurturing them, little by little, until a garden within you did grow.
