I Cantori di Carmel - classical concert choir of the Monterey Peninsula in California. Its mission is to create excellence in choral performance. Concerts are in the Fall and Spring at the Carmel Mission Basilica and other beautiful venues on the Central Coast.

🎶How many choral works can you name with Carmel in the title?

Probably not many.

This September, you can hear a brand-new one.

Carmel Point sets Robinson Jeffers’ words about this place we call home, written by composer Christopher Anderson-Bazzoli, who also happens to sing bass with I Cantori.

Jeffers’ poem looks at Carmel Point, its beauty and the changes brought by human hands, and asks us to consider our own place within something much larger than ourselves.

We’ll give Carmel Point its world premiere at Songs After Sunset this September.

Over the next few days, we’ll introduce you to more of the music of Songs After Sunset. But we had to start with Carmel.
